    Anyone know what's wrong with 01 1.7 diesel astra that is losing a lot of power when going uphills and not steep hills either.

    by losing power do you mean the engine is revving up but the car isn't moving, or that the engine is struggling to pull the car?

    revs were going down, it was struggling to pull the car

    perhaps try a lower gear? Are you taking a heavy passenger load?
    Doesn't lose power any other time I'm guessing so would suspect gear change first.

    Could be any number of things, anything from the airflow meter, EGR valve, fuel pump, imjectors, wrong fuel.

    Best to bring it somewhere rather than worry about it :)

    Its the airflow meter:D
    annoying problem especially for cars behind you!!
