    Does anybody know how long the waiting list for a herina operation is.

    Im heading to see the doctor in the morning and Im just a bit anxious about how long the wait will be.

    So if anyone could help it would be very appreciative.

    depends on the type of hernia, and, sorry to say this, depends on whether you are going private or public.

    Also depends on what stage you are currently at, whether you have just been diagnosed, have you seen a consultant yet, etc.

    best talk to your doctor, because no doubt, everyone here will have a different timescale

    As stated already, it really will depend on whether you are going private or public. I went private, I had my first consult with the surgeon on the 25th November after being referred by my GP. He told me that it would be after Christmas much to my disappointment. After a number of phone calls to the hospital in January I had it done last Thursday 4th February.
