Interview for Xtra-vision

I have an interview for xtra-vision in a few days and i'd love some help! The interview is being held at a local hotel rather than in-store, which is making me worried that there may be a massive number of people there for the same job and that there might be some role-playing involved....

Has anyone had such interviews with xtra-vision? (or any interview with them at all?) I need all the help i can get!! Does anyone have any tips?

    Thanks

There is another thread talking about Xtravision interviews.
    Hope it could help!

Btw could I ask you in which city is it? Have been trying to get a job with them but haven't heard of an open day.

I saw that thread but i didn't find it very useful.
It's in Derry in Northern Ireland. I was phoned and asked to attend an interview, i just assumed it was a group interview since it's being held at a hotel rather than the store....but i just figured out that the date the woman gave me for the interview doesn't exist. Nothing she told me adds up, so i think i might have missed it :(

Just give the HR a call and find out.

As for the interview, I doubt it's that hard, know a bit about the company, how to deal with customers, etc... I didn't even have an interview for my job in xtravision as such, just my luck I suppose.:D

    Best of luck.

    hi mate,

Check out this thread, my post in particular

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055372952

If it's in a hotel then it'll probably be an open day with lots of people there. They interview everyone and end up with a pool of people that they want. Then as vacancies arise in the stores you specify as being able to work in, you'll get a call. There'll probably be a role play of some description yeah. It's okay though, not too strenuous.

Note that you could end up waiting weeks or even months before a vacancy opens in the store you want. If you're flexible regarding location, then give them loads of stores that you'd work in, so as to improve your chances of getting one.

I called HR and she told me she meant to say wednesday the 3rd, which is what i thought (even though she said the 30th...). Not only that, but yesterday when i was freaking out that i'd missed it, i called the hotel to see if the company had a room booked for wednesday, and they said they didn't, that they only have it booked for TUESDAY, and for a much shorter, earlier time....so it seems the hotel also has it wrong

Wow, it's like everything is conspiring against me...

And thanks Dave! But i thought i was interviewing for a specific store... everytime i called them, they asked me if i was applying for X store, and i said yes....but they wouldn't be having that giant group thing if it was just for one job would they?

And what exactly do you mean by have my C.V references with me? As in i should just print the references from my C.V again and take it with me?

Welcome abroad the XV crew.:D It's a handy enough job, and hopefully your shop ain't too big. Apart from that it's just remembering the simple things, like the codes for phone credit and all which is the hardest.:D

I found remembering the combo's for games consoles and so on to be the biggest pain !

You can just write the codes on a piece of paper or in your phone, don't worry

Jayzus is there anyone who was interviewed by XV who didn't get the job? :D

Well think about it, the people who take the time to write in forums for advice will be the ones who go into the interviews the most prepared. Not surpring really lol
