Tonight is our regular 3 tenners game.

You can take your stacks at anytime so you could start with 6k if you like.
Reg is opened from 7:30 till 9:30 with the game starting at 8:30pm.

We are getting between 50+60 runners for this with record numbers of over 65 last week.

Also this week we have our cash league final on Wednesday with double hours available for this tomorrow night, Tuesday, so if you still haven't qualified there's still time. It promises to be a great night with the mixed game players coming in also.

    See you all there.

Just a quick query guys. When i was last in there (bout a week at this stage) the computers had all been removed.

Is this a permanent thing or will they be put back? I know a number of players who say that the comfort of having a bit of surfing and/or online poker available to them when they bust out of tournie or cash makes it worth their while popping down, and so may choose now not to if it is permanent.

I think is a great gimmick and would be a pity to see the computers gone. Any clarification wold be appreciated.

    Thanks

I think they were removed for Derek Kelly's 50th birtday party which was on Saturday.

We are moving things around a bit at the moment, we extended the poker floor and added tables into where some of the computers were for our busier nights, overflow, and we will be putting the computers elsewhere, they are being updated at the moment.

    Hope this helps

Well done to Karl 'The Champ' Nolan on winning the second Voodoo Cash League last night. Karl is in some form at the moment having won the tournament league at the end of last year. He'll be going to London next month to play in the International festivals main event with a £500 buy in. Lets hope he can keep this run of form going.

Thanks to Everyone who took part in the mixed game last night. I'd hoped to play this myself but was a bit under the weather.
Judging by all the reports it was a great night. Lets hope I can make it next month.

Tonights tournament is the €20+€5 second life tournament.

The structure has been changed to give players more chips and more play.

Starting stack is 5000 with one re-buy or add-on of €25 for an additional 5000 chips. You can re-buy with your starting stack or less or just use it as an add on at the break. So you could start the game with a 10k stack if you want.
Clock is 20 minutes with antes introduced after level 5.
Reg is from 7:30 till 9:30 with an 8:30 start time.

Hope to see you all there.

I realise our own website is still advertising the wrong information about Fridays tournaments, so apologies to anyone being misinformed about the game.
It is a €60 Deep stack Freeze out. 10k starting stack with 30 minute blinds for the first 3 levels and 25 minute blinds after the break. The structure is superb for this size buy-in and the feedback from anyone that has played it has been really positive.

Tonights game, (Thursday) is the €20+€5 second life game with one re-buy or add on of €25. You get 5000 starting stack with 5000 for the re-buy/add on which can be bought anytime you have your starting stack or less.
The clock is 20 minutes long with antes introduced at level 5.

Registration for all tournaments at Voodoo opens at 7:30pm and the game starts at 8:30pm. we allow late entries for 1 hour in all our weekly games.

We had plenty of cash action last night with 3 cash tables on the go, There was a good choice of game with €1-€2 PLHE, €1-€1 PLHE and €1-€1 NLHE games running. The games were still going after 5:00am from early evening.

George the Chef was kept busy with the Wednesday Night 2:00am Cash Players breakfast.:D

So if you can't make the tournament in time there's always the option of dropping in later for some cash action.

    Hope to see you there.

‘The key to designing a poker festival is to find a level that will not only attract participation but also maintain the integrity of the game.’ Nolan Dalla.

The Voodoo Card Club is proud to announce its St Paddy’s Festival of Poker.

The week long festival in March 2010 will kick off with NLHE Super Satellites on Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th for guaranteed tickets to the Main Event. Monday is a €10 re-buy NLHE Sat and on Tuesday a €20 NLHE Re-buy. Both these tournaments get going at 8.30pm.

On Wednesday the 17th there is €50 NLHE re-buy event guaranteeing one Irish Open ticket and four Voodoo main event tickets. (Rumour has it there will be a sprinkling of music, Guinness and dancing going on around this event in case anyone should forget the day that’s in it). This tournament has a starting stack of 3500 chips with 3500 chips for re-buys and top-ups. The re-buy period is for the first three levels. The clock is 30 minutes and the starting blinds are 25/50. Kick off time is 8pm.

Thursday the 18th will see the hosting of a NLHE €100 Freeze Out which qualifies for European Ranking points. A starting stack of 10,000 chips and starting blinds of 25/50 with a 30 minute clock should ensure plenty of play in this tournament. Cards in the air at 8pm

What festival would be complete without Omaha? and Friday the 19th a €100 PLO tournament, (of course it carries IPR points), will run in tandem with a €20 NLHE super satellite to the main event for those who aren’t fans of the four card game. The Double Chance Omaha event has a starting stack of 5,000+5,000 chips and a thirty minute clock. Blinds start at 25/50. Four cards dealt at 7pm and two cards at 9pm.

The Main Event starts on Saturday 20th March at 7pm and is an affordable €250 NLHE two day tournament with a 15k starting stack and a 40 minute clock. (Yes there are IPR & European Ranking points).

Those still standing on day two will be treated to a buffet breakfast before the 3pm kick off.

A €50 NLHE saver event at 8pm on Sunday ends the festival. 5000 chips and a twenty minute clock should allow those not playing at the final table of the Main Event a decent chance to see a profit from the festival.

With an affordable Main Event, a good spread of tournaments, proper starting stacks, decent clocks and loads of guaranteed satellite tickets available, the Voodoo Paddy’s Festival should go pretty close to hitting the key Nolan Dalla is on about.

As St Paddy himself may have said:

Go raibh tú daibhir i mí-áidh
    Agus saibhir i mbeannachtaí
Go mall ag déanamh namhaid, go luath a déanamh carad,
Ach saibhir nó daibhir, go mall nó go luath,
    Nach raibh ach áthas agat
    Ón lá seo amach.

(You weren’t expecting that were you?)

How early is early? Obviously pends on who is around. But I'd love to play a cash game that starts at a humane hour.

February went fast at Voodoo, but a few things of note happened during the month.
On Wednesday the 3rd we had our second cash league final in the club.
Karl 'Charlo' Nolan was crowned champion, to go with his victory in the Tournament league a few weeks earlier. Karl will be heading to London next week to represent the club at The International Card Club's Festival Main Event.
All the team at Voodoo wish him the best in this and if he runs as good over there as he does in Voodoo we should see him going deep in this 2 day event.

We also hosted the return of the mixed game on the same night. zuutroy, kayroo et al took part in the game which has become a regular fixture in the club.

Our February Tournament League was played out on Friday the 26th. The top ten tournament players for February played out for the cash prize and more importantly the title of Voodoo Tournament Champion for February.
In the end it came down to a heads up battle between Ian Thewlis and Paul 'Jock' Dempsey for the title with Ian finally edging out Jock to take the title.
Well done to Ian Thewlis, February's Voodoo Tournament Champion!

Over the course of the month we have seen players preferences change in the cash games. Previously, the most popular game spread in the club was the €1-€1 PLHE with a €25 min sit down. The game has grown, as have the players. They have found the €1-€2 PLHE more appealing with the ROE, both with a min sit down of €50, a close second. We still spread the €1-€1 PLHE game and the occasional NLHE game when requested but the €1-€2 game is the players game of choice now.

February also saw the announcement of Voodoo's First Festival of Poker.
This will take place over St. Patrick's week culminating in the 2 day Main event on Saturday 20th March @ 7pm with a €230(+20) buy in.
15'000 chip NLHE F/O with 40 min levels with €20'000 Estimated Prize Pool.
With so many satellites and so many ME Tickets guaranteed this should be a great success.
Everyone involved is looking forward to a great week of poker. For more info on the festival check the link here.

Voodoo took the decision to close on Sunday's throughout February for essential maintenance. Not an easy decision to make but overall it made sense. The work that needed to be done couldn't be finished throughout the day so Sunday's were set aside for these tasks. Anyone that has been in over the last few weeks noticed the heating problem in the club. I'm happy to say that this has now been rectified. We also extended the poker floor and added two more tables in the new 'Ante' room, (excuse the pun). A dart board has been added to go with the Foozball and pool table in the sports book area and the top floor is under going changes...watch this space!

All the changes, upgrades, repairs and announcements have been essential this month for the future events in the club and should set things up nicely for the coming year. Hopefully you'll all be able to come along with us.
