Financial Appraisal Psychometric Tests

Hi,

I've got an assessment day coming up in a couple of weeks, and it involves doing one of these things. I've never heard of one before, and google hasn't returned much info. I avoided finance subjects like the plague during my degree, so I've no idea what to expect.

Has anybody here done one of these? Is there any way to prepare? If so, what should I do?!

Do you have any other information on it? What sort of job is it for? Do you know the name of the testing company? The company probably has sample tests online, if you don't know who's issuing the test and the interviewing company is big enough you should be able to find out.

Hi mate,

It's with the Bank of England. I've googled, but haven't really been able to get much further information. Apparently ABN Amro does a similar one, and also the FSA (Financial Services Authority) over here in the UK, but aside from knowing which organisations use them to recruit, I haven't really been able to uncover much more information about them. I thought someone on here might have done one before maybe.

Hey I took these tests before.

It's fairly simple, it's to do with speed and accuracy, matching jumbles of numbers and letters. I wouldnt worry to much about, also some of of the tests are designed so as not to be finished in the allotted time so don't let it stress you out too much.

Hi AvaKinder, thanks for the reply. Would you be able to give an example of the type of question? Should I practice speeding up my arithmetic? They don't allow a calculator.
