.Gif images not working

    Hi,having a problem with my laptop at the moment..Gif images are not appearing at all ,just getting a box with the red X instead.I suspect ive deleted something by accident from hard drive whilst trying to free up space. (YEs i know im an idiot!)Any one got a suggestion as to how to fix this?Cheers

    Were exactly are the gif images not appearing? The box with a red dot makes it sound like inside internet explorer.

    So is this in your desktop environment or when you are online?

    Its happening online.Also my sig in my Outlook email?

    Try a different browser, Firefox, Chrome, there's loads.

    I would agree with BopNiblets. Try a different browser first. I seriously doubt there is something wrong with your actual computer.

    BTW - What versions of IE, Windows and Outlook are you using. That info will help narrow down the problem in the meantime :)

    Am using IE version 8 (as of today) an Outlook 2003.Problem still persists! thanks for the advice all.Will try Firefox....

    Where are these images located? Are they on your hard drive or are the on the internet? I usually see that red x when looking at images that have been hotlinked and then blocked.

    Is it possible that the gifs you are referring to were hosted on a website that has taken steps to prevent hotlinking?
