Channel 4 goes off Sky after a certain time

Does anyone know why CH4 goes off air some nights? It just cuts out completely and a message comes up saying "This programme is not available". Ch4+ goes off air an hour later. I was watching Mo Mowlan drama tonight on CH4+ and just before The Omen started, the channel went. When I checked CH4 that was gone too.
I rang Sky a few months ago and they said RTE might have a deal with Sky to shut off CH4 sometimes. They said they are aware that this happens in the Republic.
Does anyone know if this is true, and can RTE actually do that?

It's just a case of them not having the rights to show certain programmes and movies on Sky in Ireland. Doesn't happen near as often as it used to, but if you check the programme description it'll say "Unavailable in ROI" if they don't have the rights...

Yeah, it used to happen all the time, but tonight is the first time it's happend in a while. Radio Times doesn't mention "Unavailable in ROI".:)

If you go to TV guide, then All Channels, go to Channel 4 and click on the i button over The Oman you'll see it there. You can't read it on the screen as the warning banner comes up too fast.
