How's it going? What instrument do you play yourself?

Sorry, should have said. Drums. Steady with no frills, haven't played in years, started practising again, and feel the need to have a bit of fun.

    Hi there,

First off, welcome to Boards. Secondly please have a read of this thread and add more info to your post like your location and the age range you're looking for. That'll save others from having to ask you those questions.

Best of luck with your search!

Ok, point taken. Here goes. I'm in Kildare (Newbridge arear), although originally from Dublin. Began playing in the late 70's, played in a few bands around Dublin in most venues of the day, The Baggot, Toners etc. Didn't really have much idea of what music to play as long as we were playing something. My influences are varied, but mostly tends to return to music with either 'soul' or heart, and a good steady groove. First record was 'Live at the Fillmore..Wheels of Fire' (Cream).
I want to form a band to play covers of dance music, music from the JB's, Talking Heads, The Doors even, music with a strong bassline, steady groovy drums, minimilist guitar solos, keyboards, the odd horn. Music with more left OUT than filled in, music to tap your feet to, clap your hand to....
I have a place to rehearse, with no neighbour issues. I need musucians with a degree of competancy, no prima donnas, no egos.
Maybe I'm looking for too much, then again maybe not...
