    a) Public Sector worker (with Union Membership) sustained a work place accident resulting in a life threatening condition.

b)Fortunately had successful emergency treatment and weekly hospital follow up for twelve months but potential life long problem/pay attention to the matter.

c))Certified sick pay went to straight to employer as the employee continued to recieve salary for a specified period of time.

Returned to work after six months certified sick leave which included 3 Bank Holidays which were contractually covered by the employer as a paid day and 3 days in lieu.

Then employer refused to honour the Bank Holidays stating:
Case in the UK/Europian/Labour Courts? relating to employee's on sick leave / Social Welfare benefit and therefore not entitled to contracted Bank Holiday benefit as well.

Public Sector worker colleagues not on certified sick leave received salary and Bank Holiday days in lieu as per contract of employment.

Work place accident: Nothing? No follow up - no support.

Did the employer cover the medical costs?

No. Because of Emergency treatment and follow up was through the Public Health system.
