Anyone give me a flavour of what channels we will have once the digital service launches next year ?

I'm guessing that none of the English terrestrial stations will be included ? Would something like CNN even be included ?

    nothing is confirmed at present.
But any channels other than rte, tv3, tg4
Will be encrypted and part of a subscription service.

There won't be a good selection of free channels until the subscription service collapses (like in the uk and spain etc) and it's all fta

Dont forget RTE News Now, thats on the tests at the moment so i cant see why it wouldnt be kept when the "proper" service launches..

Also a film channel showing european films and an oireachtas channel are proposed as FTA services.

given the current financial state of things, i can't see a film channel or an oireachtas channel being on air at time of launch.

(presuming that this service is officially launched some time in 2010)
