    Hi everyone,

After a long few months of trying to pick a wedding venue around the Kildare,Laois,Carlow area i think myself and my H2B have chosen The Kilashee House Hotel.I just wanted to know is there anyone who has had their wedding there or will be a Kilashee bride what the hotel are like to deal with.To be honest i was quite taken back by their 2000e deposit in these hard times.Even the 5 star hotels are only looking for 1500e!Are they a good hotel to bargin with.Have you had any experience of getting the prices down.Their wedding fair is on the 21st of feb and hoping to make my decision then. All info regarding this would be grateful.

    Thanks,
    Sweetypie :)

I wasn't at a wedding there, rather the afters of the Gordon Bennett Rally, but the place is gorgeous. We were in the main function room, and they had it decorated beautifully. The food was absolutely fabulous! I know sometimes with large functions etc the quality can sometimes suffer, but this was as nice as if it was served to a couple dining in the restaurant.

Hi, we are getting married in killashee house hotel at the end of Aug 2010, the 2K is a bit steep but at least it is 2k off the bill at the end ;)
we went to a relations wedding last year in killashee & it was fantastic, the food was great, the gardens are excellent & everything was top notch.
We have booked the main ballroom, 1 tip we got was to make sure you have tables put down near the dance floor after the dinner/speeches, as the dance area/band area is down a couple of steps from the dining area, if that makes sense :)

Agreed with above. Ive played the bellroom several times and never felt it was suited to small weddings due to layout of where dance floor is. Whenever it was a big wedding it was great, couple of times it was small (100 or so people maybe) and it wasnt so good. (not bad persay just not great) other then that I like it as a venue.
