I always found Moonlighting much more annoying.

But just wondering which people liked. They are both similar in theme!

I opted for the better shows button, but the first season of Moonlight was great, chemistry between Willis and yer wan.

I went for 'better shows in the 80's'. Always felt that both programmes were aimed more at the female market and as a young lad i was much more interested in the cynical take on life ie. Married..........With Children.

Hard to make a case for either in truth but the Willis/Sheppard chemisty was good and they were clearly having fun in the early series.

Married with Children was mainly the 1990's started in '87 finished in '97.

Ah yeah, sorry,i was just using MWC as an example. The likes of moonlighting was a bit too slushy for a young lad(me:)),give me cynicism and guns and blowing stuff up,that's what a young lad like me enjoyed in the early/mid '80's.:D

I recently watched the whole series of Moonlighting again nd loved it, possibly even more than the first time as there were little nuances that went over my head when I was younger. I watched one episode of Remington Steele and... let's just say it has not aged well.

In retrospect there were very few programs in the 80s that are still as watchable today as Moonlighting is.

The fact that Willis and Shepherd detested one another rarely showed through in the show. The writing was top-notch - the scriptwriters were more or less given free reign and to hell with deadlines. It was a minor miracle they made it to 5 seasons given the ridiculous scheduling (nobody knew up to an hour before kick-off if there was going to be an episode that week) and the open hostility between the leads.

    E.G. The A Team

I would have thought Bruce Willis' character was cynical enough :)

I didn't like Moonlighting at all, watch the repeats and I suppose having just watch repeats of RS I was expecting ML to have a few cases to work on, often it involved the 2 lead bickering so this turned me of ML.

As for RS I always thought it was better because it was a piss take on all of the other detective programmes on the air such as Hart to Hart and Murder She Wrote.
I watched one episode of Remington Steele and... let's just say it has not aged well.

It is a few years older than ML.

Nearly a full season. It was shot in Ardmore as MTM had just bought the place. They had plans to make it a major studio for them in Europe.

I watched one episode of Moonlighting recently on CBS Drama - Sky Channel 149 and really enjoyed it. Must check out some more. That said, I always liked Remington Steele. Any re-runs of it?
