To celebrate the launch of the new FBD website we are selling 2010 rooms for only €50 B+B per room per night. Offer is based on two people sharing and subject to availability.A supplement will apply for single occupancy. Offer valid until 31st March 2010.

Booked one myself for the night of my birthday, seems like a great deal and a good location for a night out in the city...

I don't get this - the room rate is €50 for B & B based on two people sharing and yet a single supplement applies? So you pay more if you are a person on your own. And they save on a breakfast......

what does this have to do with FBD?

You pay the same. Which means there is a €25 supplement if you're on your tod.

Pity they haven't got it on on the weekend.

These hotels are all part of the FBD group.

Not really cheap IMO. . .Bewleys have rooms for €50 per night (regardless of 1 or 2 ppl in the room) excl breakfast.

Bewleys have rooms for €55 so it is a better deal - and you get your breakfast included and it's a city centre hotel so if you're going out in town, no taxi fare back.

I think it's a pretty good deal. I'm sure there are better but maybe not for a hotel bang in the centre of town.

That is pathetic, it should have been conditional on their planning that they provided car parking for a nominal fee if not free, more signs of Dublin planning, sorry brown paper bag, mentality.

The hotel don't own the multi story car park - they have nothing to do with it.

The car park happens to be across the way from the hotel and therefor the handiest option. You can choose not to pay it if you feel it's unjust. There are other car parks around that are cheaper.

It's hardly pathetic, very few hotels less than 4 star in city centres worldwide have free parking.

I believe it's from 5pm to 9am and you have to pay in advance, not available to you if leaving it 24 hrs.
    Of course 9am to 5pm is 3.60 an hour. So 24hrs is €8 from 7pm-9am and €30.60 for 9am to 7pm. So €38.60 altogether.

I think you managed to skip over the bit where it should have been made a planning restriction to build a hotel

well that would be pretty idiotic, there would be no hotels anywhere near dublin city centre if that was the case.

Planning permission for hotels in the city centre usually expressly forbids much/any parking unless it's existing already.

This is their website, FBD hotels, just another group trying to promote themselves I presume and No I am not affialiated with any of them.

    http://www.fbdhotels.com/

I think we have ran slightly off topic but you dont have to bring a car in for the night, there are plenty of options with public transport!

I got a booking for a Friday night if thats considered the week-end! Maybe all the week-end nights are gone at this stage, who knows...

Sorry. To clarify what I was saying. Room Rate = €50. That's for one or two. So they should not be saying 'single supplement'. 'Room rate' is 'Room rate'. Probably just a standard 'rider' on their booking conditions.

Down the bottom right, there are logos for the other hotels. I stayed in the temple bar hotel before. Got a lovely big room, 32" lcd, view onto temple bar.
