    By Mark Vester
Leonard Ellerbe, adviser to Floyd Mayweather Jr., says his fighter returned from retirement to clean house. Mayweather wants the big events and the big names at welterweight. He plans to start his quest with WBA champion Shane Mosley on May 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mosley has signed the contract, which includes a rematch clause and calls for both fighters to take part in random drug tests.
“Floyd tried to fight the guy everyone thought was the best guy available and we couldn’t get that fight done, so we went to the next guy on the list,” Ellerbe said to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports. “As I’ve said many times, when Floyd decided to come back to boxing, he did it to be in major events. He’s going to face all of the top welterweights and one by one, knock them all off.”
Ellerbe told Iole the contracts were being drawn up and Mayweather will sign as soon as his contract is ready. A press conference to announce the fight is expected to take place in New York in the next days.

Well I suppose you cant argue that he will be number one in the division if he beats Mosely and Pac. Great advantage over Mosely as he will be inactive since January 09. Almost as long as Floyds "retirement". Floyd beat up a superfeather, Shane is fighting the #1/2 fighter in the world. Great timing!

the only thing against Mayweather is that he hasnt faced this kind of a challenge in years. He is nearing 33 i think and even though shane is older he has been fighting better opponents as of late. Does the inactivity make up for this?

Id like to see Berto get a fight out of this somewhere withing a year against one of the losers.

People where calling Floyd a bitch for ducking Mosley but now the fight is going ahead, they are discrediting him still,
Cause Mosley is "too old," you guys werent saying that a few weeks ago when Floyd was "ducking" him,
    Floyd ducks no one

No matter who what Floyd does, who he fights or how he beats them, all of his haters will create something in an attempt to discredit him.

Let's see what they say when he makes a show of Mosley.

They will say Mosley was too old! But they weren't sayin that **** a few weeks ago when Floyd was "duckin" him,
Just like idiot haters say Floyd "ducked" Margarito and Cotto when infact he told Bob Arum he would fight the two of them for 20 Million,
But Bob Arum declined and claimed Floyd was "ducking" them,
When Floyd beats Manny it will be cause Manny is "too small",
Or "the blood tests, weakened him." (If they take place,)
Hell even if Floyd beat Williams at 147 it will because Williams was "weight drained coming down to fight Floyd,"
Floyd will never get the credit he deserves, Most people on here dont know what they are talking bout most of them time,
Floyd called out Mosley after the Brussles fight......
    Mosley ducked Floyd,
    here is proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPJhvYXKZK8
People ignore this everytime I post it

Well it has been documented that Mayweather was calling Mosely out before he was ppv and mosely wanted none of it. Thats the only thing I give floyd credit for.

I for one have said that Mosely at this stage is an ok opponent. Against Marg he put on a serious performance but looked shop worn vs Mayorga. Which was the one off? Its hard to tell when his last fight was 15 months ago. He's an inactive 38 year old fighter but will do the trick in the pre floyd-manny hype. I dont count him out, but i dont give Floyd too much credit for beating him. Mosely should have been his comeback opponent but when you take on 36 year old super featherweight I suppose he deserves a tap on the back for any welterweight opponent.

I'm a fan of Mayweather but like all athletes he has a relatively short amount of time to make as much money as he can. This leads to the mismatch superfights etc. I understand why they are made and why the best dont fight the best all the time but im still not going to be any more admirable of him fighting a fellow world class welter than I am of say Peter Manfredo for fighting Matt Vanda.

Competitive matches should be a given in any sport you pay to watch.

The key to Mosleys new found success is Nazim Richardson,
They Guy is an absolute Genius and was the mastermind to Hopkins schooling of Pavlik aswell as Sugars destruction of Margarito,
He knows how to work with these Guys, and as I said Margarito was taylor made for Mosley, because he came to Mosley which made it easy for Mosley because he has quick hands and Marg was always in Range, thats how he kept his stamina up, Bhop kept on the inside against Kelly and didnt have to throw long either so didnt run out of steam also!
Mosley is gonna have to look for Floyd and he wont find him,
He is gonna run out of has while doing so.

Floyd wants the big paydays, Fair enough but the two biggest fights for him at the moment are also the two biggest paydays!
Mosley and Pacquiao, Mosley is prepared to take the tests because he has nothing to hide Manny needs to man up and do the same prove he has nothing to hide either, He keeps saying "he doesnt work for Mayweather!"
but did Holyfield work for Tyson when Mike asks for stricter Tests before there bout?
Evander had no problem taken the tests because he was clean,
And aswell as 40Million payday over a tablespoon of blood 14days before the fight? Which was more then what they initially asked for?
Cmon man, there is no excuses but of course Pacquiao nuthuggers and Bandwangoners always turn it around on Floyd, But Floyd has exposed Manny and has left questions over his career now
