Due to being up to my eyeballs at the moment I am looking for someone to come on board and help out with www.startups.ie.

This is a new website with the aim of providing information and inspiration for anyone interested in starting a new business in Ireland. An opportunity exists for someone to finish and expand content on the site and start the process of securing advertisers, members etc. The site has great potential and I am looking for someone with the vision to help make it a success.

    Opportunities include:
Meeting and interviewing leading Irish entrepreneurs
    Networking with entrepreneurs
    Exhibiting at trade shows
    Profit sharing on advertising revenues
If interested please contact me at info@startups.ie

All you have done is build the site. That can be done by a developer in a weekend.
Why would anyone join this venture and do all the real work, rather than startup their own website ? As there is no barriers to entry and all the hard work has not been done.

I'm very skeptical of the majority of these suposedly "great idea" websites. A lot of them are muck. Each and everyone of them is based on selling advertising. Unless you have millions of page views per month, it's a p1ssy business model.

However, I will hand it to you, you probably have a better concept than most. That being said, don't expect someone to come in and do it for you. I think that's taking the p1ss, quite frankly.

    Hi,

Just to clarify I originally posted this in the jobs section, I certainly would not expect someone to do the work for free. I was thinking of either a fixed fee per blog/ contribution or a more full time position as head of online as I am looking at developping other sites this year based around my core business in the drinks industry.

I agree that relying on advertising revenue is a pretty p1ssy model, I see other opportunities in this.

Beleive it or not I still can not get broadband where I live, I work on the site when I get a chance at the weekends in a local hotel where there is wi fi. So much for the digital economy,

    Thanks for the comments anyway,

    Cheers
