So I'm out looking for new leather Sofa's and the Mrs see's a suite she likes in Reids Furniture, now I'm aware some Boardies have had issues with these guys just want to get an idea are there any safisfied customers on here? I understand that the furniture is manufactured in China and takes 12-15 weeks to ship for delivery, but before I lash out €3K I would like to guage peoples satisfaction with this company? I' also going to take out an insurance in case of damage to the recliners tear in leather etc is it worth doing this?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Cheers

We bought our white leather corner suite from Reids about 5 months ago. It did take awhile to arrive, but thats okay since we hadn't actually moved into the house when we bought it.

It was very securely wrapped, and the guys didnt complain about carrying it up 3 flights of stairs.

The only downside of the experience is you have to pay for them to take away all the packaging. (12.50) And its up to the driver for the day if he wants to or not.

There were no marks or tears on the sofa, and they put it together for us, at no extra charge.

We did take the insurance out on the sofa since it was expensive, and it gave us peace of mind.

All in all, an okay experience from Reids.

Just bought a leather sofa from them there before Christmas.

It was OK - took about 6 weeks for delivery which wasn't too bad. But delivery seems to depend on weather/ferry crossings, which meant that the date was pushed back a couple of times.

Lads put the thing together for you but then you're left with huuuuuuge amounts of messy packaging. They categorically told me that they couldn't take it back. God knows what I'll do with it.

Make sure you get confirmation of dates in writing. But even then when it arrived we were told "Wednesday" and but weren't given a time. We took day off work and it didn't turn up till 6!!!!

But the delivery people aren't Reid, to be fair. They're a seperate company Reid pays to deliver their stuff. Reid have only limited powers about delivery, it seems.

Bought a 3+2 cream leather 4 years ago. Its weathering well but starting to distort. Would say will get another 2 years.

payed 1k (have kids wanted something not to expensive to get past the messy times)
