    Hi all

I was looking at the O2 website today and its saying that data use is unlimited on all tariffs now.

I was looking through the small print to see if there was a qualification that this was through bitbuzz or something of that nature but could not find anything like that.

I Got my iPhone in July and the monthly data cap was 1GB. Has this changed recently does anyone know or is it a change only aplicable to new customers in a attempt to styme a mass defection to vodafone when they are able to support the iPhone also.

There is a 3Gb fair usage policy and you must sign a new 18mth contract just to switch plans. NICE ONE O2!

    Interesting.

So Basically you can upgrade to a 3GB Cap from a 1GB Cap in return for a new 18 month lock in.

I wonder does this effect your upgrade eligiblity. The new iPhone is due to come out in the late summer. What were o2 like last time around in terms of giving customers still in a contract new upgrades.

apparently you can still upgrade and extend contract again.

You also agree under new contract not to tether under your allowance.

Im waiting for 4G iPhone but even if Vodafone release similar pricing/terms Im switching as O2 are not great. Was with meteor for years and only switched back to O2 for iPhone.

don't do it OP, they are tying you in to a slightly better deal per month for 18 months, with no reason to believe they will offer you tethering or let you upgrade. You can't trust them as far as you an throw them, as evidenced by the 'unlimited data' which is actually 3GB. Far from unlimited.

Wait a couple of months and see what happens with vodafone, what the news is on next iphone, do O2 keep their latest promise on tethering etc. (They've broken a pile of them in the past)
