What is the time limit for jobseekers allowance claims?

    Hi

    How long can you claim jobseekers allowance for? Im in the position where i cant find any jobs in my requried field, temporary part time jobs or even voluntary work.

    You can claim it, in theory, for ever. However, they won't back-date it from when you became unemployed.

    If you are working less than 3 days per week, you can also claim it.

    Could you explain the 3 days per week rule-how does this work-is this full time or part time?

    If, say you work for 3 days, whether for 1 minute or 8 hours, then you can get JSB for the other 3 days. I presume its assessed on your income from your work.
