How many personas do you have?

Yes, I did get the idea for this thread from the post of a certain teenager from Birmingham.:p

But how many 'personalitites' do you have? Do you act around different people in different ways? Etc.

I have about three different personas I'd say. I say what I think around my friends from before I moved house, because they're all dirty cúnts.
I have to tone down the dirtynees a bit around my new friends, well I say new but I've known them for five years, they're not quite as dirty. This is the same way as I act on boards, if I said what I thought I'd be banned.:P
Then finally I have my other persona, the way I act around my parents or most adults, very very diluted.:D

So how about you people of AH?

Lol AH is making a lot of hard calls tonight... diagnoses of mental disorders and overturning murder trials!

I reckon I'm pretty much straight up as per real life... obviously a lot more conservative/ mannerly/ sober around the parents/ sisters but that's pretty much standard.

same as. Dont get shy around new people. Just act meself. Strangers are just friends I havent met yet.

I have 3.

One is quiet and reserved.
Another is quite obnoxious, cocky, loud, and loved by alot of people.
The third hates everything about the other 2.

It's kinda weird to describe it like that actually isn't it!

Just the one, really. Though it seems like I have two-- one on boards and one in real life-- but that's just because it's really hard to tell intonation over text and I have a bizarre sense of humour.

But I'm just one person with everyone, including my family.

Unless "work" personas count, but I don't think they should. I'm a lot less foul-mouthed and more quiet with authority figures, but that's kind of a given, isn't it?

You're confusing schizophrenia with dissociative identity disorder/multiple personality disorder. Most people do this.

I'm different around everyone I meet. I even try to pick up their accents if they're different from mine. Not consciously,but it's something I've noticed.

People I don't know - awkward = I simply don't do small talk, a few drinks changes that though
Parents/grandparents/most adults - polite, respectful, my accent is even softer
Good friends - joker, perv, much more talkative
Other friends - calmer version of the above

Definitely just the one - I seriously couldn't be arsed changing my persona to suit different situations. Obviously I have to "tweak" it a bit at certain times - e.g. when dealing with bosses, when visiting my gran, etc.
