Might sound like a stupid question!
Im seeing a younger man for a while now.. we are both in our twenties, with him being a few years younger...I like him but I am afraid to introduce him to my friends and things as they may feel its socially inexceptable to be seeing a person so much younger... 7 years in fact.
How much younger is socially acceptable. Has other people got experience with this at all?

Oh as long as he is over 18 you should not have a problem and he will get served in pubs and 21 he should get into nightclubs with you.

Seriously, if your friends or family have problems it is their problem and not yours. If you have a problem with what they think then its you who have a problem with the relationship.

My brothers wife is 10 years older than him and when they met he was in his early 20s. My uncles wife the same. My g/f is younger than me.

I wouldnt worry about what is acceptable to others but what is good for you both.

My bf is two years younger, and loads of my friends are with younger guys. The best way to deal with it; just take it as it comes and have a sense of humour coz you will get "cradle snatcher" slaggings etc. Just get a tough skin about it and go with the flow and have some fun. You can only deal with issues if or when they come up so don't pre-empt problems, it might just all be grand.

I second what CDfm said, my brother is 12 years younger than is wife, he was 24 when they met and 25 when they married. Madly in love she laughs off anything anybody says about them.

Age is just a number and if anyone has a problem with it then its their problem not yours.

OP all that matters is that you are in the same place in your lives, looking for the same level of commitment (however large or small that may be) and with similar expectations. Other posters have outlined how many success stories there are if this is the case. If he's 22 but looking to settle down; if you're 29 but still looking to have fun - in both cases if you're on the same page there's nothing to stop you being a roaring success. :)
