Shogun Brake judder

    Anybody any experience of sudden brake judder in a 98 shogun, Just happened all of a sudden and a slight squeal from brakes also. also black smoke when starting cold and when under load, is it the injectors and do i have to replace all 4. Thanks in advance for any help.

    smoke would probably clear up with a tin of good cleaner egr valves can cause smoke too just blank it off with a bit of steel

    the brake judder is probably warped front discs. Ya may pull the front wheels off and check out the run out on the discs. Regarding the black smoke, Pajeros are smokey anyway but if ya want you could take them out and get them checked by a diesel specialist. Broro22 is right about the erg valve making it smokey but it shouldnt open on start up or on acceleration. If it was stuck open, the smoke would be that bad ya wouldnt be able to see behind ya
