What are your peoples predictions for the upcoming six nations? I fancy France for the championship but i can see no winner of the Grand Slam..The bet that stands out for me is England for the Triple Crown..There at 4/1 at the moment , their fixtures are, at home to both Wales and Ireland and then away to Scotland.. I dont see Wales or Ireland beating them at Twickenham, grant it the English are no world beaters at the minute , but this is a big six nations for them and Johnson has to get a big performance out of the them..Last year they annihilated France at home and we struggled to beat them at Croke Park.. Im looking at backing them heavy at 4/1 for the Triple Crown and then when it comes to the Scotland game at Murrayfield il have the oppurtunity of laying off ..I reckon Scotland will be close to 2/1 for that game.. Anyone with me on this ???

2/1 on Ireland to win the Triple Crown looks the bet to me. No bigger than 6/4 in my book.

Got on Tommy Bowe each way for top tournament tryscorer @ 12/1. Looks a few points too big considering his form and the fact that Ireland play Italy and Scotland at home.

What would your break down of the Irelands Triple crown games be, odds wise?

Ireland are 1/33 against Italy, i would think 5/6 against England and 1/2 against wales..The England v Wales game will have a big influence on these odds but at the moment i would reckon thats the way the games will be priced up..Sorry dont know what i was thinking of talking about the Italian game , i reckon 1/7 against the Scots

I reckon its a 6 nations to stay away from gambling on. Probably gonna be the closest ever....
France look strong, will be interesting to see if Ireland can maintain their form.... England and Wales's form has been up and down but will take some beating for any team!!
Really looking forward to it... :)

    Ireland are 5/6 against England

I'll have a huge bet on this. I can see where you're coming from but I just disagree on the strength of this England side.

    Scotland - 1.125
    Wales - 1.4
    England - 1.58

I'm sure plenty of people will that's way too short against England and could well be right. I'm a strong opposer of this England squad for the moment though.

Yeah i would say its way too short, how England perform against Wales will have a big say on the odds for Irelands game.. I can see the English beating wales comfortably..

think that wales have a good chance at beating england this weekend, in which case ireland could go there as 4/6 shots. good to have the 6 nations betting back. hopefully italy can continue to be the old reliable to beat the handicap.

really fancy england to win against wales at 1.85 on betfair

if lee byrnes doesnt get ban rescinded they have no cover at all, prob have to play hook at 15- also no number 9 of any quality and at twickenham, its looks a gift

lads i have my own e zine if ye'd like to have a look, im giving away two free tickets to ireland italy as well

    cheers

Good write up, thanks for the link

I think you'd be far better off taking Ireland 5/2 for the Championship if you're going to take the 15/8 on the Triple Crown. Italy is a gimme and France could do anything. We probably wont need to beat the French to win the Championship.

    i dont know phats

france could be awesome this year- 4 teams into heinkein cup 1/4s (albeit with a high degree of foreigners playing in T14 now)

i reckon france are right to be favs with england and ireland going to paris
they should beat wales( who have no top number 9)

as long as lievermont picks right( which he has too as unless he wins 4 matches he'd prob out the door) at 10 (trichoct duc fav to start) and gets the balance over the field they will be hard to beat-

they beat south africa, beat new zealand in new zealand- and looked awesome doing it- they did lose the last match to the all blacks but the NZ were top off their game that day while france were coming down after big win

saying that france are slow starters and could lose to scotland if scotland have right gameplan but unlikely

scotland first, then ireland, so they will raise it by whats needed to beat us imo.

True but your getting 15/8 to win three games and 5/2 to win one more (Italy) not get hockied by France(unlikely) and for France to lose to anyone of Scotland away(tricky) Wales away(always an open game) and England at home(have largely owned them the past decade). You may only need one of the four variables to happen for us to take the Championship. That makes the .625 extra on the Championship, value(that word again) to me

Whatever about Wales injuries France have no form 10 what so ever and asking Parra to take the kicks and run the backline is a big ask for such an inexperienced player.

The big negative for the French is that they play their home games in Paris.

I think you could be right phats

if france were playing in marseilles they'd be very hard to beat- but i do see them beating ireland unfortunately-

they will probably lose to england though.Havent won since 2006, took that from your blog billy (nice blog by the way)

what about england v ireland;how can we see that game being priced up

Ireland for me would be 1/3 to beat wales
10-11 to beat england and 1/5 to beat scotland

so that pays around 2/1, i see laddies are going 2/1, not sure if they still are

    powers are out with handicaps
    ireland -21
    england -3
    scotland +7

    10-11 treble pays around 6/1

England are a gift is right against wales..I really cant see us beating either England or France..Its France to lose , the have England and Ireland at home and a tricky away game to Wales..

Billy had a link to a 13/2 special on a handicap treble, might be worth a shot.

Worse case secnario you could back Ireland for the Triple Crown and the Championship before the first fixtures. If France stumble to the Scots you're laughing if not you can always lay it off at the same/similar price.

Do you post on betfair Kev?

I would fancy France -6 with Will Hill @ 10/11. I mean it is only one converted try in the difference. Unfortunately, the French may crumble under pressure of Tournament favouritism.
