Would it matter what hotel it was though? It was obviously a planned robbery, and sounds very suspect to me tbh

    I wouldn't call it a hiest.

What the hell is a diamond salesman doing with a load of diamonds?

    Sounds fishy to me.

    Buying a caravan?

This is all very snatch-esque I am just waiting to hear that a Russian and and an Italian with 4 fingers were involved in the plot.

i suspect he means that if you want your caper to be called a heist, it should be a bit more sophisticated than kicking in a door, beating up a guy and running away with the loot!

Think conmen, disguises, laser-grids, unbeatable locks etc

this is just a common robbery!!

Did it have a David Holmes soundtrack? If it did then it's a heist.

It's known as a hiest. Slightly different from a heist for the reasons you outlined above.

The Irish Times said it was in the Travelodge when it happened.

1 million worth of Diamonds - did he not think about leaving them in the Hotel Safe?

I wonder were they insured and whose insurance would cover it ?
