Grewcock & Hala'ufia banned

    Bath lock Danny Grewcock has received a seven-week suspension for stamping on Ulster's Stephen Ferris' arm in Saturday's Heineken Cup match.

    The second-rower was found guilty of the offence during Bath's 28-10 defeat at home following a European Rugby Cup disciplinary hearing in Dublin.

    The stamp was deemed "mid-range in the level of seriousness".

    London Irish's Chris Hala'ufia has been banned for four weeks for striking Leo Cullen during his side's Heineken Cup match with Leinster on Saturday.

    The Tonga international admitted to punching Leinster captain Cullen during the pool six 11-11 draw at Twickenham.

    An independent disciplinary panel, led by Frenchman Jean-Noel Couraud in Dublin, found number eight Hala'ufia's offence to be of mid-range seriousness.

    Thats Grewcock's eighth career suspension....one of which cost him a place at the 2007 RWC. The suspension was two weeks longer that the norm because of his appalling disciplinary record.

    It's a pity he has such a short fuse as he is a fine player

    I would have given him another two weeks on top of it for utter stupidity. He actually continued pressing on Ferris's arm when he saw the ref looking at him.
