    Thinking about changing the car....

Currrently have a 05 Focus 1.4 with 66K KM on the clock - full SH etc.. (I know there are lots of them :( )

Was thinking of a 07 Lexus IS220d, they appear to ~€20K

What would I be looking at to trade up??? (sure it depends on the dealers margin on the Lexus but a rough idea?)

Just before I decide to have a look or not :)

About 13.5k to change I reckon.

I reckon you would get a more favourable deal against a 07 IS220, the road tax on a 07 is on the old engine size system as opposed to a 08 which is c02 based.

I would also compare cost to change prices against 08 models, if you plan on keeping the car for a good few years the extra purchase cost of a 08 over a 07 might be written off by the cheaper motor tax over a few years, plus resale value would be stronger on the lower taxed 08.

I'd agree with that, you'll certainly be asked well north of €10k

    I would say €15k approx

    Nice upgrade for €15K though.

interesting reading folks - was hoping something around the 13K tbh. (thats if they even were willing to take it)

I knew about the 07 model having higher tax but the 08 is too much out of my league.

Damn Focus - too many of them about to trade in against and nobody wants them private :(

I guess its a trip down to the dealers and say I'm just wondering what it would cost....just time thats all and looking like a tyre kicker:P
