Moved from the Career and Job Discussion forum.

While I don't know anything about applying as a mature student, what information are you looking for regarding computing courses?

    Hi,

Sorry and thanks for the move,

Mainly looking for recommendations on which course would be the best to do as a lot of the colleges seem to have computer science degrees and the prospectus's dont really indicate any real difference between them.

    Cheers

Clsing date for mature applications is Feb 1st through www.cao.ie. Can find all info on courses through www.qualifax.ie. I do know DCU offer the course you mention. You will need to work very quickly at this stage.

And that's the thing - there isn't a whole lot of difference. In the vast majority of courses you will do programming, networking, databases, operating systems, maths, plus one or two more specialisations.

Post up links to a few courses you are considering and I can give you a less vague opinion. :)

Cheers tom, I get what you mean i wasn't exactly specific myself;) looks like i'll have to be making a quick decision though but if in doubt i'll post a link..

    Thanks again everyone

Matures are interviews in April and may be offered their places in May/June are not connected to the LC. If you are unsure look to a level 5/6 in a college of further educ. their closing date is not linked to the CAO this will give you more time. You can then progress next year to level 8 when you are 100% on what you want to do.

    Good luck
