    Hi,
My DS Lite is not charging. It works fine when I put in a battery that is charged. No Charging lights come when its plugged in.
    I took it apart.
I marked a section on the pic. It looks like something melted there.
Another thing would it also be the fuses. What watt of soldering iron do I need ?

dslite2 is the pic I marked.
I got this other pic Usgcpux3fuses that shows a metal bit there.

did you take the picture of your with a webcam or something? Was really messing with my head for a minute there :P

You are missing the component you have circled by the looks of things. Did it fall out when you opend the case up?

Yeah took that with my webcam lol. couldn't get the right light. Nothing fell out. Would that make the ds not charge or will it be the fuse?

The DS was working fine for the first few days then it stopped charging.

    well mark,

The syntoms you describe are indeed of a DS with a blown fuse. but lets face it, the missing component from the motherboard right where the charger connection is rings more alarm bells in my head anyways!

If you have a multimeter test is the fuse blown.

Yes I have a multimeter. does the ds lite need to be plugged in?

nope, just set it to conductivity test (on mine it looks a little something like o))) ) It will beep if you touch the probes off each other.

With this done put a probe either side of the fuse (make sure it is well pressed down) if it beeps the fuse is fine
