Minimum numbers in hotel

    Hi All,

I was just about to book my hotel but when they sent the contract there was a clause in it about beng charged for a minimum of 150 people, even though we were clear from the beginning that we intended to have between 100- 130.

I understand this if its the middle of July but we had specifically chosen an 'off season' date so we wouldnt have these issues.

The hotel have not gotten back to say in our case they would be ok with having a minimum of 120. While we do plan to have 120- there is always the chance some people couldnt come and I would find it very annoying to pay for people who arent even there.

Is this standard practice in hotels? Any advice?

    Thanks

Our hotel is usually a minimum of 150 for a weekend wedding. We plan to have 150 but set the contract at 140 just in case.
