Firefox just gets more bloated with each release. But have a look at what add-ons you have installed, they're often the culprit.

When has a new release of a program ever become faster, smaller, and include more features than the previous version? I'm not saying it has never happened but I really don't know.

And seriously is anyone running out of memory by running Firefox? Do they just want to have 2Gigs or more of ram sit idle in their computer safe in the knowledge that they have lots of free memory for some program they never run? Slow is a problem, memory leaks are a problem, but size is dependant on the complexity and features of the program. There is no holy grail of programming where more features equals less code (see governments lowering taxes and increasing services).

Sorry I just had to vent that. People always moan about new versions of programs using more _____ (<- insert complaint) and heaven forbid if the new release simply makes the code more secure and maybe even smaller and more efficient then the complaint will be lack of new features.

The Awesome bar now caches data in RAM instead of reading from the hard disk to improve performance. Not ideal if you're low on RAM.

Upgraded to 3.6 and FF was hogging resources and just generally being sluggish. Installed chrome and aint looking back

Yeah, have noticed the same problem myself. It must be some sort of memory leak bug.
