I am wondering, does a trainee Accountant have to train under the same qualification as the Accountant that takes him/her on? Example, can a trainee do ACA while employed by ACCA/CPA member?

I'm open to correction but i think that you can only train as an ACA under an ACA qualified individual. I think you can train under the others regardless of the partners institute. I have CPA and ACCA students in my firm who are in training contracts with an ACA individual. I remember a CPA telling me he could not take on an ACA student as he was not allowed train them but whether that was a once off im not too sure

Legend 100 is right, part of the ACA training contract is that a qualified ACA signs off on the contract as the work experience gained.
