Confirmation Outfits

Hi, I'm looking for advice in getting a Confirmation outfit for my daughter. She's only aged 12 but she's both very tall for her age and a plus size. When not in her school uniform she tends to live in tracksuits, t-shirts, etc which she gets in ladies size 14-16. My problem is getting her something suitable for a special occasion but still age-appropriate, as in cut for a 12-year-old. She might be tall and plus sized, but she's only developed on top as much as any 12-year-old. Anybody know of any stores for plus sized kids, or even online stores? I'm running out of time and getting desperate! I'd like her to feel good on her special day when she's there with all of her "regular-sized" classmates dressed smartly in their lovely outfits. It's already hard enough for her when she's a head above the tallest of her classmates! Please post here or PM me if you can point us in the right direction! Thanks!

You could try somewhere like New Look. They have a great range of sizes and most of their clothes are very young and 'funky' (for want of a better word).

You could try something simple like this tunic or a long fitted shirt (such as this) over a pair of leggings or nice jeans with a nice pair of dolly shoes.

There are so many looks your daughter can go for. Does she have any idea herself what she wants to wear?

    Hi,
Thank you for this! Funky and trendy is exactly what I'm looking for. She herself is thinking along the lines of a dress with leggins underneath, so somethign like this tunic is ideal! And she also wants something blue! Hadn'r heard of New Look before.
    Many thanks :)

Glad I could help. :) If she doesn't find anything in there then you could also try Awear & Dorothy Perkins. They're usually pretty good for having larger sizes in stock too. Miss Selfridge usually have some nice 'young' clothes too. Hope she finds something she likes.

New Look 100% OP, their range is quite young and fun. I'd also second Awear.

Maybe let your daughter look at their websites and see if she likes anything?

A kids shop in Mullingar dose plus size kids clothes. My friend got a lot of stuff for her daughter in it. I will find out the name and PM you tomorrow. New look can be hit and miss for kids sizes, the 33 might be to small and the adults sizes not cut to fit the right places.

Hi, I eventually had an outfit made for her, because we couldn't find anything suitable that would fit. She ended up with a lovely dress and jacket, that fit in all the right places and she was delighted!
Good luck! And enjoy your day when it arrives!
