Hi, just a quick question, my driving test is in about two hours in Rathgar, i went up to rathgar last night to drive around, and noticed just before you turn into the actual test center there is a white striped box running along the center of the road, when im turning into the center am i allowed to enter the white box and wait for a space to clear? or do i have to wait in my lane before a gap opens?

Those Hatch Markings have a broken line around them, so I think you can enter and wait. That's what I did and I wasn't marked.

Well I did nt enter the box and did nt get marked, but i failed anyway, it was my first test so i sort of expected it. it was because of observation, and i could have sworn i looked in every possible direction, and looked in every mirror when possible but sure. any tips on how to reschedule another test asap. as my insurance is being transfered to my sister in the next 2 r 3 weeks?

The observation as mentioned may have been : Bicycle lanes. There are a number of bicycle lanes on that test route.

i too was one of them unfortunate people to have a test cancelled during the bad weather, but ill apply for a cancellation anyway. also is there some sort of discount for your second attempt?

You'd be suprised. I failed in Churchtown on the 18th of jan. I applied for a cancellation on the same day and I jsut got word today my test is on 18th of Feb. I haven't seen much on here in terms of waiting times for cancellations but given that we're talking about a month I'm pretty happy with that. Only wish I ahdn't taken 2 weeks off from driving :p

If you defer your test (I had to due to exams, it was supposed to be tomorrow!), do you have to undergo the same wait as you did the first time (around 3 months for me!)?

The white hatched markings on Orwell Road have broken lines surrounding which means that you can drive into them and wait to cross the road.

It's a very fine technicality but any good instructor who knows that area should have pointed it out.

I did wonder what affect the snow would of had on the tests. I didn't think there would be that many tests affected though. I did notice tallagh did seem to have an increased number of tests going on the other day.
