    Add a turbo button

    :)
    only kidding.

Hmm, mods for the WII should be fairly straight forward if you think of it as a peripheral for a specific kind of game, you've probably seen those plastic tennis raquets and golf clubs that they attach to the wii-mote

What you could do is design a genre specific add-on, like a sword add-on for red steel 2?

You could make the case for a proper functional improvement rather than the cosmetic nature of the existing accessories pack by properly balancing the weight of the controller to match how a sword would feel to hold and use during gameplay

You could discuss the materials with reference to health and safety, durability, desirability and functionality

Why pick something you know nothing about? Seems like a bit of a boo boo, you ask me.

Anyway, depending on how serious you need to be :

An external hard drive - the challenge being to build something that can be mounted on the standard Wii case without compromising the looks or functionality. It'd be USB connected (and powered?) so rear mounted makes sense...

Build something that looks like a Stargate - complete with loose cling film for the wavy warp effect :) - this is your black hole storage system, you can save space in your house by storing all your nunchucks, wiimotes, guitars, golf clubs, steering wheels, tennis rackets, balance boards etc in it.
    A wifi card that works

Wii Fat : A sensor-filled lap-top table that measures the weight and calorie value of your tasty meals and snacks, and tells you how soon you'll suffer cardiac arrest, how loose or compacted your stools will be etc. It also has fun challenges like the 1/4 pounder down in one challenge, eat a tub of ice cream on your own 'cause men are bastards game and the classic "I can't go jogging 'cause it's raining" mode which will use the weather channel to find you somewhere on the planet where this is true.

Protective headgear for players (and matching padding for the Wii) to avoid serious injury during WiiSports play. White with blue piping (red for player 2?)

A "Make your own Mii" kit so you can build your Mii head in real life (there's a set amount of components in the Mii creator software after all) and wear it around the place!
