€110,000 is being given to the first Artist who manages to plant some hideous eyesore along the banks and verges of the new Limerick to Nenagh/Limerick Tunnel routes.

So what are your feelings on this?

Is it a worthwhile endeavour - especially at the current time?

1,000,000 sprawled Semi-Detached Houses in Raheen/Dooradoyle and no Park but they find €110,000 to give to some 50 year old Art Student to plant stainless Steel Cogs and "Ripples" instead?

Its not unique to this road. It is a requirment for the contractor to sub contract artwork for the scheme.

    Its a european-wide requirement.
