looking at tiles at the moment, must be worst part of building so far

have large floor area to tile downstairs approx 90 sq yards, mainly kitchen, utility, hall. priced tiles here, mostly matt/glazed poerceilin 60 by 60 all round 30 euro per yard. found exactly same tile up north for 18 euro/ yard

however also found lovely matt 100 by 50 italian porcelin tile with real marble effect character around 33 euro per sq yard in north and adhsives seems to be half the price as well. we saw some of these in cork in 60 by 60 at around 60 - 70 euro per sq yard ( way over budget)

However i'm looking to know has anyone thoughts/experience of laying such a large tile with regard to problems, costs , finished look etc

If they are real porcelain you will have problems cutting them. they are very tough.

Bigger tiles are more difficult to get leveled but a good tiler should have no problem with that.
Big tiles are good to make a small space "feel" bigger. But if the room is too small may not look good.
IMO the finished look is fantastic.
