Thought so, it took a few attempts for me. Maybe lowering firewall settings might help.

I have a netopia router with Eircom and i set up NAT 1 no problem with it using the youtube video. make sure you have the PPPoe user name right. Username: eircom Password: broadband1.

Even now sometimes when i try to go online it will take up to 5 mins for it to work initially. So if your have set up PPPOE the way the video says, try connecting a couple of times before giving up.

Can anyone recommend a good modem/router to replace that netopia piece of crap, its giving me nothing but trouble. Do I need to keep it and bridge it with another router or can I get something that will just replace it outright ?

Any dsl router will be better that netopia router.
Try this Linksys Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem Router WAG120N, price around 50E, takes 5 min to setup Nat2(the best for online gaming), works without any problems

My ps3 actually says i'm on NAT 2 already, and thats just from automatic settings on the ps3 after I had to restore the router and lost all my static NAT settings. Was hoping to get NAT 1 but that keep it carlow thing won't work cause i'm with Imagine.

The only game I have problems with is MW2 really, unplayable sometimes and host migration rarely works.

I think the username should be "eircom@eircom.net"

I often switch from NAT1 to NAT3 depending on whether I gaming or streaming video from PC, and thats the username that works for me on Netopia routers with eircom..... (obviously :o)

Follow this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JugGe7CCuNU guide and you will be able to change to NAT Type 1.
