Wacom Tablet and Vista conflicts?

I just got a new computer at work running vista. Fair enough, it seems to work okay.

Except... Vista has decided that because i'm using a wacom tablet and a pen I must have a tablet computer and so I need handwriting recognition.

This means I'm constantly getting a little dialogue box insisting I use handwriting recognition and its driving me nuts because I cant find anywhere to switch it OFF.

Anyone encounter anything like this? Or know how to disable the handwriting recognition in Vista? thx.

Try uninstall those features. If I remember rightly, it's in your add/remove programmes (or Programmes and features settings), then "Turn windows features on or off" and look for the "tablet PC components" to uninstall.

Might also be an option in the "Ease of Access Center" to disable the on-screen keyboard from popping up all the time.
