What is "Raising purchase requisitions and purchase orders"

    Hi everyone,

    Looking at a job vacancy in an office of a local manufacturing company and it says there is some account work required. I enquired what this would be and i was told "raising purchase requisitions and purchase orders and looking after invoices, matching them to the purchase orders"

    Can anyone here tell me what this would be/entail??

    Is it hard or complicated - would you need previous experience???

    It's entering details of things that a company needs to buy from a particular supplier in a computer system as a requisition. The requisition is authorised by the relevant person in the business and then becomes a purchase order which is sent out to the supplier to order the goods. When the supplier sends an invoice for payment for these goods, you would then be pulling up the purchase order in the accounts system and entering the invoice against it for a full / part fulfillment of that order and recording of the debt owed to the supplier for the invoice.

    Nothing difficult in it at all, it's essentially data entry.
