    Hi All,
Can any one provide some tips for this level?
I find this a frustrating level as its mainly just a sniper fest, and quite dull to play.

I mainly play MTDM and i'm not a great sniper so thats not much of an option.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Cheers,
    MiCr0

Does derail ever appear on FFA?, I've been playing MW2 since the end of December and have never played this map.

If you dont link sniping stick to the trains down the middle of the map. The usual sniper spots are :

    b9895.jpg

The green zone is usually the safest, the yelow zone is just plain stupid to go in there.

Sorry for the epic fail pain skillz :(

    I'm at level 56 and I've a couple of different load-outs i use.

The basis of most of them is:
    Sleight of Hand Pro
    Cold-Blooded Pro
    Ninja Pro

I'm still on my first prestige so I've only 5 custom classes.
    These are:
    AUG HBAR with grip
    M16A4 with ACOG Scope
    ACR with Red Dot Sight
    UMP5 with Red Dot Sight
    Intervention

For some of the weapon load-outs I'll swap cold-blooded for Stopping Power Pro.

If i can see that derail or wasteland are coming up, i may change
    Intervention to WA2000 with thermal
    M16A4 to M16A4 with thermal

Never use a thermal scope on derail, its useless and dosen't work at all. The best non sniper setups in derail are usually the ACR+ red dot / holo with a silencer or fmj, or M4a1/ak47. Use the perks which make you run non stop, and fatser then normal. And use sitrep as there is usually a load of claymores and c4 all over the place covering the schneeky routes to get to ze snipers.

if you want a lot of kills as a non sniper on derail,
so the same as the snipers, sit in the warehouse in the middle and kill people from there with the acr,
and stop snipers and others from getting up there,
they will always try get back up there, so if your up there you can stop them.

I'm a decent sniper myself so i tend to snipe but my friend seems to do the quick method just stay out of the open areas and go into the sniping zones with a mid ranged rifle. So in other words go after the snipers before they snipe you, hope i helped :)

I agree get a silenced sub machine gun and put on cold blooded and ninja pro and just run between sniper spots and kill the mofo's:D

Always use skavenger with claymores in derail. Put a claymore on each entrance in the main building, and this will either kill your oppontent or give you a good indication that someone is close as they are after running through your claymore. Make sure you have a good shotgun (AA12) to blow there brains out if they are near you, once dead they always come back. Try to vary were u put your claymore plus watch out for snipers when looking out them windows :)

Horrible map. You can't even snipe properly on it because there are so many things blocking your line of site.
I used to run around the edge to get behind the enemies spawn and kill them and keep circling the map.
I find it better now to go to the building in the middle of the map (the only one with blue and red dots on Anti's map) and clear that out, shoot out the windows and stop the enemy getting back into it.

you dont like to snipe no problem , i love this this map on mctdm for one reason and one reason only

primary : it dont matter maybe ump
    secondary: any hand gun
    throwing knife
    perk 1 : marathon pro
    perk 2 : lightweight pro
    perk 3 : commando pro

At the start off just head straight (not literally) for there spawn point , all you need is your knife. Always keep moving and you will be surprised at how well you will do.

The strategy for me that seems to work on this map if I'm not sniping is to keep to the outside of the map and make my way to the buildings where the snipers always are and kill them, then leave until they go back up to their spots. Then just repeat.

Sounds simple but it doesn't always work out.:pac:

what this man says except use one man army

one man army with cold-blooded(start with this)
one man army with hardline (change to this when you have 3 kills)
one man army with danger-close(change to this when you have air support)
one man army with sniper rifle (to take the snipers out)

you'll have a chopper gunner in no time

The only problem is , is that people will keep leaving the game because of your claymores .
