Looking for a bit of information on best location to stay

I have never been there before and we are looking for a central location, in the middle of the night life, more leaning towards bars than clubs. Taxis or public transport are not on our agenda.

Even if someone can recommend a hotel for 6 to 10 lads in the middle of April it would be much appreciated, mid range 3 to 4 star.

This is a drinking weekend so nice parks, views, museums or tourist attractions are completely irrelevant to us. All we are looking for is a reasonably clean hotel in the right location.

    Any help appreciated

I suggest you stay near the central train station, I know you want to stay in a hotel but there is an excellent hostel called the Euro Hostel with a brilliant bar, happy hour from 6 to 10, drinks approx €2, a lot of locals as well tourists frequent the place. Its about a 5 min walk to Marianplatz too.

Tryp Hotel Munich is good. Near the centrla train station, defintely close enough to walk everywhere:

I stayed there before christmas. They have smoking rooms too if thats your thing. I know that because they orginally put me in one, and had no problem moving me when asked.
