Do SIPTU provide a legal team for a member??

    I am wondering if a person is a member of SIPTU, and if SIPTU believed that the employee had a strong enough case against their employer, would SIPTU provide the employee with a legal team (Solicitors and barristers) to represent the employee in court against the employer? What steps would be involved in convincing SIPTU that their member (Employee) has a genuine strong case against an employer? If a legal team is provided to their member, would SIPTU pay for the legal costs or would the member have to pay for the legal costs?

    Moderators, I am NOT looking for legal advice whatsoever, just advice about SIPTU and a legal team. Thanks in advance

    If anyone has gone through this in the past, and IF SIPTU provided a member with a legal team, I am wondering if you could offer me advice on how to go about all of this. I would really really appreciate it. Please drop me a PM, if you have.

    There have been instances of SIPTU taking carriage of proceedings on behalf of members - it tends to depend on what the nature of the case is. You're going to have to ask your Union rep.
