Hi , Do many of you use the rotory decoy machines to decoy crows. What type of artificial decoys do you use on the arms and where is best place to get them? I already have the standard decoys for placing on the ground. Haven't done this in ages, would this time of year be suitable or wait to may/june when the young uns are about.
    Cheers

the rotart works well if the crows are feeding close by all ready. just set up dead crows rotary - they ca be more realistic. i would imagine summer time would be best when crops are getting ripe but then again crows feed on lots of things. freshly cut silage fields, freshly seeded crops, potato fields, sheep feeders. corn sheds, etc, etc,
watch for where crows are feeding and then a lot of trial and error.
    goog luck

Get yourself a crow decoy and an acme crow caller. Put the crow out in the middle of the field, hide in the ditch and start calling. Make sure there are a few crows about first. Best time to do it is in cut silage, cut corn or where a field has just been sown.

The crows will fly into you like mad attacking the decoy, its not really the most sporting but sure it will pass away a few hours anyway.

Get a dead bunny and slit it's stomach put it in the open and wait. Empty Tayto bag, with a rock in it, works a treat too ;)
