So my steam account got hacked, and I believe it has something to with this website being hacked, seeing as my steam username(Poncho) and password (****) were the same as this website.
Anyway after 4 days of rubbish steam tech support they finally sorted it out and sent me the new password. So I log in dreading what I might see, maybe even that VAC had banned the account all together. Luckily that didnt happen(although I hear it takes a few days for that to happen...), but the username was changed. All I know is that some guy called ***Craigo*** had been messin around with my account for 4 days. Sent a chill down my spine, this has never happened to me before. If I ever meet that guy....

On the plus side he got me a new emblem and didnt go prestige(I dont do prestige). But still....

Before boards got hacked I had the same username and password on a few bits and was just hopeing nothing would happen. Thankfully nothing did, ****y one about your stream account but at least no damage done really.

Its unlikely your steam account was hacked through boards incident and you ended up with the name Craigo.

Besides the fact that your usernames are different somebody would have had to decrypt all the passwords, and hit steam with hundreds of emails/passwords each after the other. Believe me when I say that raises huge alarms.

Hacking and stealing information to the degree that was taken on this site would have been for a monetary gain, which would not entail using steam accounts to play games, but rather charging off your credit card to gift games/keys while selling them on a site like ebay.

I would start looking elsewhere for how it happened. Starting with your email address and who could have had access to it.

Id say it was a keylogger too, DEFINITELY not due to boards being hacked.
