First time poster on this thread - my problem is in relation with a 3 year old ipod classic 20GB. I have not been using much lately, yesterday evening I went on iTunes and downloaded tracks. However, when I plugged in the ipod to the computer ,the apple symbol appeared on the screen of the ipod, then sone kind of a warning sign and then it went dead. I have tried charging it thinking the battery was dead and when I connect it to the computer nothing happens.
If anyone was any suggestions they would be much appreciated as I am at a lost what to do.

Tried that already, I keep getting a picture of the ipod on screen with a sad face on it - if that makes any sense

Tried that and got some useful info from it about resetting etc.. but it still wont work. Then happened to notice where it mentioned about having the latest edition of itunes on your computer. Hey presto, problem solved !!!! (after downloading the latest version)
