    Howdie folks,

Went to unlock my iphone last night and realised that the lock / power button has receeded into the body of the phone. It still works but there is no feel in the button, it's really solid with no give in it.

It's annoying but I'm really not in the humour to go hounding the CPW for another replacement after my first 3GS's microphone broke with seven days of purchase.

Has anyone else ever suffered this problem ? Should I return it to be on the safeside ? My only concern is if it the button stops functioning and I can't lock it or power it on / off.

The phone is three weeks old.

I would return it. That shouldn't happen.

Contact Apple directly. It should be covered under warranty.

    Why ?

Get a new one obviously. Take no ****.

Because the CPW are an absolute PITA to deal with. I had to travel to Wexford to replace my last one because according to the Waterford one CPW don't deal with the iPhone aftersales and I had to deal with Apple directly. Yet the Wexford branch had no problem with me exchanging it for another 32GB over the counter, no questions asked ?

Only for one of my friends works in the Waterford one, I would of plastered someone around the store.

BTW, are they really this unreliable ? This will be my third phone within 30 days, am I just unlucky or should I expect more of the same ? I'd say something if I was a rough cnut with it, but the phone is treated like a well looked after child, I love the thing ! (When they work)

If you're under warranty, Apple will send a UPS courier to pick up the phone from you. They'll get a replacement out to you within a week. No extra cost. It's much easier than dealing with the stores IMO.

My 2G was rock solid, never had any problems with it. Broke the silent switch on my 3GS a few months back (it was loose when I got the phone). Luck of the draw, I guess.

I just don't want to be without a phone for a week, usually would have a spare handset lying around but my father has managed to break them all in work.

I'm really going to kill somebody.
