No, if you dont have one its not tested!
thats why all JDM cars can pass through the NCT without fitting a rear fog, where in England a rear fog must be fitted to pass the MOT.

Main Changes to the NCT with effect from April 1st 2010:

    15. Rear fog lamp
Rear fog lamps enhance the visibility of a car in foggy conditions by indicating the vehicle's position and direction of travel to other road users. The rear fog lamp, where fitted, will be checked to ensure that when in use it provides a red light which is clearly visible.

Thanks for the replies lads. My Integra has a rear fog light, but I want to put the rear bumper from a JDM Integra onto it, and I don't know whether I will pass the NCT or not

So presuming "where fitted" means if you have one or not.. So if you bulb is gon its a fail but if no fog lamp its ok then..

Thats the meaning I take from it.

I think "where fitted" here may mean where "fitted as standard" - i.e. if the car came with a Rear Fog light from the manufacturer then it must be working. Using this interpretation means you cannot remove the rear fog light from a car and pass the NCT.

I've had a car with no fog light factory fitted, pass the NCT twice with no problems. The car was an European model and not a JDM car

I also thought it was that if it was factory fitted then it has to be there, best to contact them directly to clarify

If it's there and visible, it should be working. If it isn't working, it can be covered up completely and it will pass. I did this with the front fogs on a car once, the screws were seized and I didn't have time to fix it so I covered both lights with black tape and it wasn't a problem.
