    Hi all

Just looking for some advice regarding using granite as a small hearth under a solid fuel stove.

I am planning to use a single solid piece of granite size 900mm x 600mm x 30mm thick

I plan to elevate this on 4 inch blocks lying on their flat.

My concern is cracking.....has anyone any views or experience??

    Thanks

    Niall

We have a granite hearth under our Stovax stove for 3 years with no issues.

We plan on doing the same. Just make sure the base is completely level is probably the best advice.
