I am a single parent in permanent employment and have always loved the idea of adopting a child. Failing that fostering.
How would I go about this does anybody know?
Or would it go against me that I am a single parent?
    Hopefully not.:)

Single people can adopt in Ireland. Plenty do.

First step I suggest is contact your local foreign adoption HSE office and arrange to go to the next information meeting (takes about 2 hours - very worthwhile).

Adopting an "irish" child is nigh on impossible, so you are most likely looking at foreign adoption.

There are plenty of online resources; Start with iaa irelan. And adoptionboard.ie.

It takes a looping time! Good luck.
