The Pothole Thread

Last Fri morning, I blew out two tyres (front and back) on the mother of all potholes between Derrinturn and Edenderry on the R402.

Pretty p****d off about it as the tyres were only 4 months old and cost me €120 each. I should be grateful, I could have been killed. The state of the roads in this country is nothing short of disgraceful !!

Would be interested to hear from anyone who damaged their car on the same pothole or anyone who has similiar experiences.

It's a familiar story, lost two tyres to them last year, both cut to ribbons, worst thing is there's no avoiding the bloody things, the two that got me were in the middle of corners so avoiding action was just about impossible.

They're gone to sh*t alright. Some massive ones all around Kildare where the roads were under ice for a few weeks. My cruiser is handling them well but they're severe enough to make the rear jump out a bit...
