If I was to import a car from Japan to the UK and clear vat + duty there. What would the procedure be to bring the car to Ireland afterwards? The car would be de-reg'd in Japan, brought into the UK, vat + duty paid, but the car would not be UK registered. So I would have proof of customs clearance but no reg cert. Is it…

Is it just a matter of getting it to the vrt office and paying the vrt?
